This would have to be one of the most exciting and satisfying local community and environmental service’s that Rotary offers. Now, 19 Rotary Clubs are contributing to it’s fantastic mission- to assist our most vulnerable in society to create a home with furniture and household goods that they choose.
Dedicated Rotarians, Susie Cole ( Rotary Prahran,) Ros McMaster (Rotary Prahran), David Gorman ( Rotary Pascoe- Vale) and a number of others keep a meticulous eye on running the RIMERN warehouse, and coordinating Volunteers, Deliveries, Case- Worker Orientation, Funding Grant Applications… the list goes on.
Recently RIMERN received a $10,000 Grant from the City of Melbourne’s “Everyone needs a Bed” Grant application. Fantastic! It will purchase metal folding bed bases.
Currently 38 Welfare Agencies have joined RIMERN, enabling 300 Case Workers to access household goods for their clients being re- homed.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND:
- There are multiple roles and ways you may volunteer- face to face contact with clients, warehouse duties, monitoring emails/facebook requests, helping with deliveries…..all in a spirit of camaraderie with other like minded Rotarians and community volunteers.
